Competition.

Don’t be so naive to assume that people wont backstab you or lie about you in order to put you down so to make themselves look good because they will. In a heartbeat. It’s a proven protection mechanism: where there’s competition, there’s a motive to defeat and to ultimately “take down”.

You’ll never be safe. Somewhere, somehow there’s a force against you. 

Have the decency to go against the instinct and to have a backbone about you. That’s the root of successful thinking and that’s the safest way to be because someday, everyone will see you for what you really are and turn against you.
